Egyptian actor and rapper Mohamed Ramadan has publicly apologized to a young man he slapped in the face while filming a video on a beach in northern Egypt. Ramadan became angry when the young man called out the wrong name and then became argumentative when asked to stop filming. The altercation, during which the young man retaliated, was filmed and has been widely shared on social media. Ramadan issued the apology in a video on his Facebook account, saying: "I apologize to the boy. My hand landed on him and I know he is a small boy. But he first insulted me by calling me the wrong name". Ramadan has previously courted controversy over his lyrics, with some critics claiming they promote sexual harassment.
