"Matthew Perry's cause of death revealed"

The cause of actor Matthew Perry's death has been revealed. According to his autopsy report, Perry, best-known for his role as Chandler Bing in hit sitcom Friends, died due to the acute effects of ketamine. Drowning and coronary artery disease were also contributing factors in his death, along with the effects of buprenorphine, a drug used to treat opioid use disorder. The report indicated that Perry's death was accidental. Ketamine is a dissociative anaesthetic drug that distorts sound and vision and induces a feeling of detachment and loss of control. It is also capable of inducing sedation, relaxation, a lack of mobility, pain relief, and memory loss. The autopsy suggests that Perry, who had been sober for 19 months, had recently been undergoing ketamine treatment. He was discovered face-down in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles last October, with traces of ketamine in his blood. Perry had battled with drug and alcohol addiction for many years and had sought treatment in 1997 and 2001. In 2013, he founded 'Perry House', a sober living facility for men. The centre is a project of Phoenix House, the largest non-profit provider of substance abuse services in America.
