Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, enjoyed his time in Singapore by participating in dragon boat racing with the British Dragons Singapore team before the start of the annual Earth Shot Awards ceremony, which aims to promote solutions to the environmental threats that our planet faces. The prince was seen wearing a life jacket and a black cap in a long boat with a number of athletes from the British Dragon Club on the Klang River. The boat that included Prince William won a short race that was led by British High Commissioner Kara Owen. This is not the first time that William has experienced dragon boat racing, as he participated with his wife, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, during their tour of Canada in 2011. Prince William shared a video of his participation on Instagram, commenting on the power of sports in bringing communities together. During his time in Singapore, Prince William was also seen taking selfies with fans and attending the EarthShot Awards ceremony, which aims to find technological innovations to solve environmental problems. His wife, Kate Middleton, did not accompany him on the trip and stayed in Windsor to take care of their children. In a statement, Prince William said it was great to return to Singapore to attend the EarthShot Awards after eleven years and praised Singapore’s bold vision to lead in the field of environmental innovation, setting the standard for others to follow.
