Saudi Arabia has announced its intention to bid for the hosting rights of the 2034 World Cup. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) will work to bring all possible resources to bear to provide an unprecedented and amazing experience for football fans with this global event. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is also the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, emphasized that the kingdom wants to host the World Cup, a reflection of the great strides it has taken on all levels, making it a leading center and international venue for hosting major global events in various fields. The sports sector is a fundamental pillar for the growth and prosperity of the economy, where the kingdom strives to make the best investment in the sports sector through continuous work to achieve the targets of Vision 2030, reflecting the quality of life levels for Saudi citizens and residents and providing an unprecedented experience for football fans worldwide in 2034. The announcement of the bid to host the biggest football tournament in the world comes after six previous participations by the Saudi national team, the last being in 2022. Saudi Arabia has successfully hosted over 50 international sports events in various fields since 2018, established its status as one of the world’s leading sports destinations. It will host the 2023 World Cup for clubs and the 2027 Asian Cup, in addition to major global competitions in various sports.
