Egyptian gymnast Habiba Marzouk gained attention at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship with a routine inspired by ancient Pharaonic civilization. The routine included movements to traditional Pharaonic music, followed by a performance to the famous song "El-Aksor Baladna" by the late Mohammed el-Azab. Marzouk wore a costume inspired by that worn by ancient Egyptian queens. She was picked to represent Africa and her home country at the championship to present an expression of her country’s character. As a young girl, Marzouk showed a great talent for gymnastics, winning various national and international competitions and medals.
