Arsenal crowned Charity Shield Cup

Arsenal defeated Manchester City on penalty kicks in the Charity Shield match. The game ended 1-1 after extra time, with Troost-Ekong scoring for Arsenal in the 90th minute to level the score after Balotelli had put City ahead. This was the first win for new Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who is seeking to restore the team's former glory. Gunners fans hope this victory will result in a more successful Premier League season after the team finished eighth last season. Arsenal won their 17th FA Community Shield title against Manchester City, who were the defending champions of both the League and FA Cup. The match was played at Wembley Stadium in front of nearly 77,000 fans and was Arteta's first match as Arsenal's manager. He previously led the team to a victory in the Europa League last season.
