Manchester City has closed the door to Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain's pursuit of midfielder Bernardo Silva during the current summer transfer window.
According to Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano on his social media platform "X" account, Manchester City officials have informed their counterparts at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain that they will not negotiate the sale of Silva this summer. Manchester City is set to offer Silva a contract extension instead.
Silva has been linked with a departure from Manchester City this summer, but Pep Guardiola confirmed in a press conference on Friday that the club is keen to keep him, along with Kyle Walker, as their situations are different from Ilkay Gundogan, who departed for Barcelona after the end of his contract. Silva's current contract with Manchester City runs until 2025.
