Bahrain Film Festival 2024 announces Gulf and Arab jurors for official competition.

The management of the Bahrain 2024 Festival has announced the judges for the official competition of its fourth edition, which includes five main categories: short narrative films, Bahraini films, documentaries, animated films, and student films. Noteworthy, Saudi director and producer Saleh Al-Fawzan will chair the judges for the short narrative films and Bahraini films, along with Egyptian actress Sawsan Badr, Emirati film screenwriter Masoud Amrallah, Bahraini screenwriter and producer Sheikha Suhaila Al-Khalifa, and Egyptian screenwriter Mariam Naoum. Meanwhile, Saudi writer and director Hanaa Al-Omair will head the judges for documentaries, along with Bahrain University media professor Dr. Abdul Nasser Fathallah, and Marie-Laure Charrier, the Deputy Ambassador of the French Republic to Bahrain. The judges for animated films will be headed by Dr. Mohamed Ghazala, Dean of the School of Cinematic Arts at Jeddah’s Effat University, alongside Bahraini cartoonist Tariq Al-Bahar and Saudi artist and member of the Saudi Arabian Animation Society, Samah Zidan. Finally, the judges for student films will be headed by Egyptian artist Bashira Rizk, in collaboration with Saudi artist Yaacoub Al-Furhan and Bahraini artist Haifa Hussein.
