The Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in Alexandria will hold the fifth Arab Theatre Festival from 18 to 27 October, under the auspices of Dr. Ghada Gobara, Academy of Arts President. The festival will honor renowned actor Kareem Abdel Aziz for his contribution and accomplishments in the Arab world. The festival director, Mohamed Assem, announced that the event will feature seven theatrical shows that will compete for the festival's awards. Additionally, there will be several artistic workshops, and the festival will honor several artists who have made notable contributions to the field of theatre and art. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Opera House in the city. Assem expressed his pleasure that the fifth edition of the festival will bear the name of the well-known star, saying that it demonstrates the festival's ongoing tradition of honoring renowned actors, such as Mohamed Sobhi and Magdy El-Kady in the third and fourth editions, respectively. More surprises will be revealed throughout the course of the festival.
