Despite Avatar 3 not being released yet, Cameron has confirmed that he has plans for the sixth and seventh installments in the franchise. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE magazine, the 69-year-old director discussed the upcoming parts and his involvement. He also expressed his desire for Avatar to become a movie franchise like Star Wars and Star Trek, citing them as his sources of inspiration. Avatar 3 is expected to arrive in theaters in 2025, followed by Avatar 4 in 2029 and Avatar 5 in 2031.
