Egyptian actor Ahmed Elawady is preparing for his new television show "El Malek" (The King),which will compete in the Ramadan 2025 drama season. The show, set in the city of Samalout, Minya Governorate, is 30 episodes long and follows a popular Egyptian storyline. Elawady will be joined by four female actresses. The show is written by Mahmoud Hamdan, directed by Mohamed Abdel Salam, and produced by Synergy. Elawady's previous show, "Haq Arab," aired during Ramadan 2024 and was also a 30-episode popular drama. Elawady's latest film, "El Eskendereya," was a success in January, grossing nearly EGP 30m ($1.9m),before being released on streaming platform Shahid, where it garnered high viewer numbers. The film was a thrilling action story in which Elawady played a fish trader and wrestler in Alexandria who faces many crises in his personal and professional life. It was written by the late Osama Anwar Okasha and directed by Khaled Youssef.
