Tom Cruise received the Olympic flag in Paris on Sunday, in preparation for the next Summer Games in Los Angeles in 2028. The actor was given the flag by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, and subsequently delivered it to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti during a handover ceremony. Cruise rode a motorbike out of the stadium with the flag, accompanied by the US national anthem. The actor was also awarded the prestigious Legion d’Honneur by the French government in August, for his contribution to the arts and his use of the city as a location for several Mission: Impossible films.
