Egyptian actor Ahmed Rizk has undergone surgery to remove a tumor from his colon after experiencing severe pain. He is currently in the intensive care unit but is said to be in good condition after having part of his colon removed. Rizk recently received the award for Best Supporting Actor in the TV drama "Beit Al-Rifai" at the 12th Hamsa International Festival of Literature and Arts. The festival's committee also announced an awards ceremony for the best Ramadan television shows. Rizk is among the actors to be recognized.
