Egyptian actor Ahmed Fahmy sparked controversy with several social media posts about black magic and its effects, leading some of his followers to assume that he was being targeted by one of his enemies. Fahmy posted several Quranic verses about magic, including one from Surat Al-Baqara, which discusses the people who learned the dark art from the demon Harut and Marut, and one from Surat Yunus, which states that God nullifies the actions of evildoers. In addition, he posted a photo of his brother and his family with a prayer asking for protection from black magic and other harmful acts. Fahmy's last work was the film "Al-Max Gang," which starred Lobna Abdel Aziz, Ruby, Hatem Salah, Mohamed Osama, and Mohamed Lotfy, and was screened during last year's Eid al-Adha season.
