Egyptian actress Mai Ezz Eldin is preparing for her second performance of the play "Artificial Marriage" in Saudi Arabia as part of the Jeddah Season festival. The play, which stars Mai Ezz Eldin, Bimmy Fouad, Mohamed Anwar, Mustafa Gharib, and others, is part of the Riyadh Season festivities. The play revolves around the crisis that Sharouk and Farouk face on their wedding night, forcing them to resort to a sympathy expert who uses state-of-the-art artificial intelligence. Mai Ezz Eldin has faced criticism for allowing Bimmy Fouad to physically assault Mohammad Salam during a performance of the play. Many comments were made that it was not appropriate for Mai Ezz Eldin to accept the humiliation of a colleague in a play in her name, and some called for a boycott. Many Egyptian stars performed in play productions in Jeddah, including Muhammad Henedi, who stars in the Ramadan School Musical play, which showcases the character of Ramadan Mabrouk Abu Al-Alamin Hamouda, Ahmad Helmy, who participates with the Billow play, and Mohamed Saad, who presents his new play Ali Baba. Karim Abdel Aziz also returns to the theater after a 22-year hiatus to present his second play Sinbad, after participating in the Hakim Eye play in 2001.
