Salma Hayek to Carry Olympic Torch in 2024 Games

Mexican actress Salma Hayek carried the Olympic torch in Paris on Tuesday, July 6th, as part of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The torch was carried from the suburb of Evry to the Palace of Versailles alongside Didier Deschamps, the coach of France's national football team, and singer Patrick Bruel. The Olympic Games are set to begin on Friday, July 26th, and end on August 11th. In addition to Salma Hayek, Lady Gaga and Celine Dion are also expected to perform at the event. The Olympic torch relay is an ancient tradition in the history of the game, and in the past, many celebrities and stars have carried it. Monaco's Prince Albert and Princess Charlene were among them. For the first time ever, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will be held outside the stadium along the River Seine, which runs through the city. The ceremony begins at Pont d'Alma and ends at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The director of the show, Thomas Jolly, has designed it. A new sport, breakdancing, will be included in the Paris Olympics, along with three modern sports that debuted at the Tokyo Games: climbing, skateboarding, and surfing. Breakdancing is a competitive form of dance that blends artistic flair and acrobatic movements. This dance style originated in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City in the 1970s.
