She also sang the official Copa America 2024 song and performed some of her famous dance moves. The South American Football Confederation, CONMEBOL, paid Shakira $2 million for her performance, which lasted just over five minutes. It is not the first time Shakira has performed at major football tournaments and she has previously performed at three World Cups. Argentina won the final 1-0 after extra time, with substitute Lautaro Martinez scoring the winning goal in the 112th minute. This victory made Argentina Copa America champions for the 16th time in their history.
