Egyptian actress Samia Ayoub has denied rumours of retirement from acting after they circulated on social media. Ayoub clarified that she is still active in the industry, but is currently not involved in any projects due to a lack of suitable scripts or interesting roles. With a career spanning over 260 film, TV and theatrical credits, Ayoub graduated from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1953 and trained under the mentorship of theatrical artist Zakki Tulimat. Despite primarily working in theatre, Ayoub also had notable film credits that included Land of Hypocrisy, Happiness and Among the Ruins, and appeared in television shows such as Lost Light and The Egyptian. Ayoub has received numerous honours and awards throughout her career from several heads of state, including Egyptian Presidents Nasser and Sadat, Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and French President Jacques Chirac.
