Tom Cruise's daughter drops father's surname.

Suri Cruise, the daughter of actor Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes, has changed her name to Suri Noel, dropping her father's surname. The move is seen as a reflection of her closeness to her mother, whose middle name is Noel, as well as a desire for identity. After Cruise and Holmes' separation, Cruise did not attempt to build a close relationship with his daughter and has only seen her a few times over the last 10 years, leaving the responsibility of raising Suri to her mother. However, Cruise has agreed to fund Suri's education at Carnegie Mellon University as part of an agreement made with Holmes during their divorce. The agreement stated that Cruise must pay her tuition and medical expenses until she is 18-years-old, as well as provide her with $400,000 per month. Cruise was previously married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman. After adopting two children with Kidman, the couple separated after ten years of marriage. Cruise later married Holmes in 2006 but they divorced six years later. Despite entering into numerous romantic relationships since then, Cruise has not remarried nor had any further children.
