Rotana, the Saudi-based record label, announced that Arab artist Mohammed Abdu received his new grandchild and named him after fellow artist Abdul Majeed Abdullah. The two artists had a phone conversation, during which Abdullah expressed his well wishes for Abdu's health and congratulated him on his birthday. In exchange, Abdu announced the birth of his new grandchild and that he had named him Abdul Majeed. The news came after Abdu returned home from Paris, where he was receiving medical treatment. Abdullah has postponed the release of his new album until after the summer and is scheduled to perform in Riyadh on July 10 as part of the "Kingdom Tour 2024" accompanying the World Electronic Sports Games.
