Egyptian actress, Laila Elwi, was rushed to a hospital during the filming of her show "Layalina 80" due to a sudden health condition. Doctors have requested further tests to ascertain the reason for her health crisis. Elwi underwent surgery several months ago and several fellow actors visited her to check on her. Currently, Elwi stars in the TV series "El Wasfa Elmaghribia" on the DMC channel and Watch It platform. The series premiered after the end of Ramadan in 2024. Elwi portrays a liberated woman who lived most of her life outside of Egypt. She is a mother to a young girl and sister to actor Islam Jamal. The series features various social encounters between the characters who all reside in the same residential complex. The show also stars Sherine Adel, Islam Jamal, Hedy Karam, Omar El-Shenawy, Basma Dawood, Rania Mansour, Caroline Azzami, Mohamed Abou Dawood, Hala Fakher, Salwa Othman, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Emad Rashad, and was written by Hani Sarhan's Story Factory, supervised by Duaa Abdel Wahab, and directed by Khairy Salem.
