Mohamed Henedy comments on "Al-Isterlini" movie poster sponsored by "Riyadh Season"

Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority (GEA) revealed the first poster for the upcoming Arabic comedy film "El Estraleeny," directed by Mohamed Henedy. The poster was revealed by Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the GEA, on his official Facebook account, ahead of the film's release in cinemas in the near future. Henedy also took the opportunity to congratulate the team behind the success of "El-Ard" and "El-Fatraa," commenting that he hopes "El Estraleeny" will be received as well. In recent years, Saudi Arabia has been aggressively investing in its entertainment industry, aiming to create a vibrant local market and attract leading international entertainment companies and events to the Kingdom. The GEA announced several high-profile collaborations with top Arab stars, including Henedy and Amr Diab, and unveiled an upcoming fourth instalment of the popular Egyptian film "El-Wad Sayed El-Shaghal" (Sayed the Servant). There will also be new cinema projects, including a collaboration between Diab and Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram. Henedy’s latest offering, "El Estraleeny," follows a simple-minded man from a small Egyptian village who is hired by a successful architect to lead a construction project on his luxurious villa. Henedy, one of Egypt's most famous comedians, has written, directed and starred in some of the country's biggest box office hits over the last two decades, including "Wahid Saeedy," "Sayed the Servant," and "Welcome to America." He has also received several awards for his work, including a lifetime achievement award at the 2018 Cairo International Film Festival. In February 2020, Henedy performed his latest musical comedy play, "School Musical," at the King Fahd Cultural Centre in Riyadh, as part of the Riyadh Season festival. Based on the famous Egyptian movie "Ramadan Mabrouk Abul Alamein Hammouda," the play tells the story of a school principal who returns after years of absence and faces many comic situations with teachers, students and parents. The performance was attended by many famous personalities from both Egypt and Saudi Arabia and was hailed as a huge success.
