Mena Shelbey prepares to film a series based on this novel.

Egyptian actress Menna Shalabi has signed up for a new Netflix series that is an adaptation of Tarek Imam's novel "Hodou Al-Qutela" (The Quiet Assassins). The show will only have eight episodes and is being written by Mohamed Hisham Abiya and directed by Karim El-Shenawy. The story is a dramatic take on a thriller, exploring the underground world of Cairo through the lens of a double persona, a poet and killer, who is the main character of the novel, though in the show, the main character will be male. This is the third collaboration between Menna Shalabi and Mohamed Hisham Abiya. Menna Shalabi currently stars in a TV series about the life of writer May Ziadah, which is adapted from Waciny Laredj’s novel “Nuits d’insomnie” (Insomnia Nights),and is directed by Mariam Ahmadi.
