Oscars consider adding "Best Stunt Performer" category.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, known for the Oscars, is reportedly considering adding a "Best Stunt" category to its awards ceremony in the near future. This move comes after the success of the action-thriller film "The Fall Guy," starring Ryan Gosling. The Academy has previously added a "Casting Directors" category, set to launch in the next two years. Bill Kramer, CEO of the Academy, stated that they are always open to such discussions. The president of the Academy, Janet Yang, expressed support for the idea, saying they have created many branches over the years and are in significant development with the industry's changing trends. "The Fall Guy" achieved immense box office success, grossing $159 million worldwide from a production budget of $130 million. The film follows a stuntman who tries to find the missing star of his latest film. It received a 7.0/10 rating from IMDb, with audiences and critics praising its artistic expression and action scenes. Ryan Gosling also stars in the upcoming sci-fi film "Project Hail Mary," set to release by 2026.
