Saudi Arabian singer Asil Abu Bakr is set to release a new album this summer, featuring a number of new songs including a romantic ballad titled "Shijab Lijab". The song is written by poet Ahmed Alawi and composed by Nawaf Abdullah, who also worked with Abu Bakr on two other tracks for the album. Abu Bakr, who was raised in a family with a background in music, had his first album released in 2007 and since then has become a popular name in the Middle East music scene, releasing a number of successful albums and songs throughout his career. His last concert, outside Saudi Arabia, was in Kuwait during the February Kuwait Festival. He also served as a judge on the first season of the Saudi Arabian talent show "Saudi Idol", in which contestant Hamza Fakheri was crowned the winner.
