The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival came to an end on May 25th. Over the course of the festival, 186 films were screened across various categories. The coveted Palme d'Or was won by Sean Baker's Anora. Other notable winners were: Jessie Buckley for Best Actor (for the film Kinds of Kindness),a shared Best Actress award between Carla Sophia Jaszczułt, Zoë Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz (for their roles in Emilia Pérez),Best Short Film for The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent by Nebojsa Slijepcevic, Best Director for Miguel Gomes (for his film Grand Tour),Best Screenplay for Coralie Fargeat (for The Substance),and Best Debut Feature for Hafizdan Olumantunde (for Armand). The Saudi film, Noura, directed by Tawfiq Al-Zayedi, also received a special mention from the jury. The Young Jury Prize was awarded to Louise Courtès for her film Vingt Dieux, and the Youth Jury Prize for Best Feature went to the same film by Courtès.
