Actress Madelaine Petsch refused to let her co-star steal the spotlight at the premiere of their film, The Strangers: Chapter 1. Petsch, who stars in hit TV series Riverdale, attended the premiere with Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart, who also appear in the teen soap. When a photographer asked if the women could stand in the order of Petsch, a co-star, and Mendes, because Mendes was wearing a beige dress, Petsch refused, saying “absolutely not, I’m the lead of the film”. The Strangers: Chapter 1 is the third installment of the horror franchise and features three masked criminals terrorizing innocent families in their homes. The movie is designed as a standalone that does not follow on from the previous Strangers films, and will open in theaters beginning on May 17, 2024. Petsch stars in the film alongside Frey Gutierrez and Gabriel Bateman, with director Reni Harlin and scriptwriters Alan Arkin and Alan Friedland.
