The Cannes Film Festival has announced that Hollywood star Meryl Streep will receive the Honorary Palme d'Or award at this year's festival, which kicks off on May 14. Streep will also be the guest of honour at the opening ceremony. In addition, the festival announced the members of the official competition jury, which will include several prominent names from the Arab and global film industry, alongside festival president and renowned filmmaker, Greta Gerwig. Jury members include Nadine Labaki, the director of the award-winning film "Capernaum", Lily Gladstone, Oscar-nominated for "Killers of the Flower Moon", and Omar Sy, French actor and director known for his role in "The Intouchables". The jury will award the coveted Palme d'Or prize at the end of the festival.
