Popstar Britney Spears has reconciled with her father, James, and paid $2m to settle her long-standing legal dispute with him. According to the New York Times, Spears sought a favourable court judgement against her father, alleging he mishandled her property and had taken advantage of her during his 13-year guardianship. However, her legal challenge failed and a judge ordered her to pay all of her father’s legal bills. Spears’ lawyer accused James of attempting to extort millions of dollars before relinquishing guardianship, a claim he denies.
