French actor Alain Delon, who is suffering from a serious illness, has been placed under "enhanced guardianship" by a French judge specialising in protective issues. This means that Delon no longer has full control over managing his assets and decisions, with some medical aspects now managed by his legal guardian. Enhanced guardianship allows the designated guardian to manage the person's bank account and pay their expenses. Delon, who has lymph node cancer, has been under judicial protection since January, with a legal representative appointed to assist him in medical matters. His three children are caught up in a bitter feud, with each wanting to protect their father's welfare, as Delon's health has deteriorated since suffering a stroke in 2019. His two sons believe their sister is manipulating their father and hiding his true medical condition, as she wants to take him back to Switzerland, where he holds citizenship, to avoid paying high inheritance taxes in France. The sister filed a lawsuit against her brothers for violating her privacy after they published a conversation between her and her father, with the trial scheduled for April 2025 in a Paris court.
