Egyptian actor Akram Hosny sat down for an interview with his son Yassin on the Arab Wood program, discussing his work on the upcoming Arabic version of the Garfield cartoon, as he records his voice for the film. Hosny has been experiencing a resurgence in his career, with a successful Ramadan TV series Baba Ghaith, and contracts to star in two upcoming films. Earlier this year, his film El Emel Safar was a hit in Egyptian and Arab cinemas, featuring a comedic story about a security guard who dreams of being a hero like James Bond, but instead faces numerous comedic situations. The film starred several other Egyptian actors, such as Asmaa Abu El Yazeed, Bayoumi Fouad, Mostafa Ghareeb, and Fatma El-Banouy. Garfield, a beloved classic cartoon character, will be reimagined for an Arabic audience, and is set to be released in May.
