Egyptian actress Yousra El Lozy has addressed the controversy surrounding her latest TV drama, "Silla Rahim" (Blood Ties),saying the team behind it had expected the reactions it received. Speaking on Arab Wood, aired on Rotana, El Lozy said she had respected the show's director, Tamer Mohsen, for tackling a sensitive topic in the drama directly. In particular, El Lozy praised an interaction between her character and a sheikh who rejected surrogacy outright. Although Islam prohibits surrogacy, El Lozy suggested that some fatwas have changed over time. She also spoke about how she had prepared for the role, locking herself in her room for 10 days to study the script before leaving Egypt for 10 more days to become immersed in character. El Lozy also hit out at the lack of publicity surrounding her latest movie, "Leila's Eve", suggesting it had been pulled from screens too quickly.
