Celebrities support honoring Adel Imam and naming a bridge after him in Cairo.

The Governor of Cairo, Khaled Abdel Aal, has announced that a new bridge in the city will be named after celebrated Egyptian actor Adel Imam. The new bridge at the intersection of Salah Salem Road and the White Train Road in the south of the city will be named after Imam, who is the second Egyptian acting icon to be honoured in this way recently, after the late Samir Ghanem. Imam’s brother, Essam Imam, revealed that the actor is also reportedly in line to receive the Nile Order, Egypt's highest civilian honour, which is awarded for exceptional service to the country. The actor, who has appeared in more than 100 films and TV shows over his long career, has also helped to shape the role of Egyptian cinema and television in Arabic language production.
