The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources declared February 22 a public holiday for Saudi employees to mark the national day. The kingdom celebrated the founding of its nation under a single flag in 1727 AD. The day was marked by the distribution of flags to children and citizens in public squares and streets across the country, and students and employees in both public and private sectors were given a day off.
