Comedy Legend Steve Brown Passes Away

Steve Brown, the British composer and writer of comedy songs and TV shows, has passed away at the age of 66 due to a lung disease. Brown was known for his work on the TV show "Spitting Image" and had also played the role of Glenn Ponder in the film "I Know Myself and I Know You" with Alan Partridge. He was also part of the radio comedy series "In One Ear" on BBC4 from 1984 to 1986. After his work on "In One Ear," Brown continued to write many songs for the satirical comedy show "Spitting Image" throughout the late 1980s and all of the 1990s. In 1995, he composed music for the children's program "The Ant and Dec Show" on BBC and later worked for the show "SM:TV Live," for which he wrote the song "Bob the Builder" as well as other songs. Brown continued to work extensively as a writer for the program "Saturday Night" on ITV and worked on shows such as "Lee Mack's Not Going Out," "Brian's Colony," "New Tricks," and "Lenny Henry Goes to Town." He also wrote songs for children's TV programs on BBC, such as "Play Away," and for the TV show "My Alien Parents" on ITV. In the theater world, Brown composed the musical score and lyrics for the musical "End of the West" and the play "I Can't Sing." Brown's family is also involved in the entertainment industry, including his actor son Alfie Brown, his musician son Lenny Brown, and his actress wife Deborah Cornelius.
