Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will collaborate on a new film project titled "Animals". Affleck will direct Damon in this crime thriller, which is announced by Netflix. This collaboration comes after their previous success in the 2023 film "Air". Affleck will only direct the new project and will not have a role in the story, while Damon takes on the lead role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is based on a script by Conor McEntyre and Billy Ray, and follows the challenges faced by a politician and his wife to save their kidnapped son. This artistic collaboration between the longtime friends will add to their long history of artistic relationships that began in their youth. They have worked on several joint projects, including the Oscar-winning "Good Will Hunting" (1997),their latest film "The Last Duel" (2021) and the sports drama "Air" in 2023, which was a huge artistic success. Damon had stated in 1999 that everyone wants to work with Ben Affleck, saying that “Ben has an unbelievable magnetism. People still recognize that through the screen”.
