Lebanese singer Elissa has been named as one of the most influential people in the Middle East and Europe by Forbes. She is listed among 50 executives, humanitarians, and pioneers from around the regions who are demonstrating that the second half of life can be the most productive and valuable. Elissa is one of the highest-selling female musicians in the Middle East and has consistently addressed sensitive issues such as mistreatment of women and breast cancer in her music. She has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, and in one of her music videos, she included footage of her radiation treatment for breast cancer. Forbes is an American publishing and media company known for its annual lists of the world's wealthiest individuals and corporations. Its most famous publication is Forbes magazine, which provides economic and financial information and data on global businesses and institutions. It owns seven international-language editions, including an Arabic version called Forbes Arabia, which was published until April 2009. Forbes was founded in 1917 by Scottish immigrant Bertie Charles Forbes and is now managed by his grandson, Steve Forbes.
