Mona Taei thinks "Al-Ikhwa" is illogical; Cyrine Abdelnour chosen for her own series in "Yalla Nihki" interview.

In an interview with Jumana Bou Eid, Mona Tayeh, a Lebanese actress, producer, and writer, talked about her career in the entertainment industry. Tayeh revealed that she left acting twenty-five years ago because she preferred privacy over fame. She enjoys putting her emotions into her writing, creating human characters with specific identities and controlling their fate. Tayeh has worked on several successful dramas and comedies, including “Aushk Al-Nisa” and “Amir Al-Layl.” She explained that her writing combines reality with a touch of imagination, romance, human emotions, and comedy. She likes to make people laugh and transmit a message in her work, but she believes that art cannot cure society's problems. Tayeh said that she usually focuses on three generations in her writing and sometimes works with new faces in the industry. Tayeh stated that the lack of funding is a major issue for writers. However, she is working on four scripts at the moment and has an upcoming show with Nadine Labaki. When it comes to casting, Tayeh prefers to work with strong characters and has a list of actors she admires, including George Khabbaz, Rola Hamadeh, Hayam Abou Chedid, and Carmen Lebbos. She also expressed her admiration for the new generation of writers, including Tarek Soueid and Karen Rizkallah. Tayeh thinks that diversity is crucial in the entertainment industry, and she likes to work on challenging projects that represent social and political issues. She recalled the success of her show “Famillia,” which portrayed different generations and personalities. Despite her success as a writer, Tayeh has faced criticism for directing and interfering in actors' performances. Nevertheless, she believes that her writing is her greatest strength and that she can always find the perfect actor to play her characters.
