Nicole Kidman recalls personal struggles during her Oscar win in 2003.

Nicole Kidman won her first Oscar Award for her role in the movie The Hours, a year after her first nomination for Moulin Rouge! in 2003. However, behind her successful professional career, Kidman was struggling personally, going through a divorce from Tom Cruise after 11 years of marriage. Kidman revealed her personal struggles in the book "50 Oscar Nights" by Dave Karger, stating that she felt something was missing in her life, saying "I had gone...I needed love in my life." The actress also shared her feelings about attending the Oscars ceremony and holding the Oscar Award, admitting that she didn't enjoy it and wished to have someone to share the moment with. Eventually, Kidman found love with country music star Keith Urban, and the couple has been married since 2006, with two daughters. Kidman continues to have a successful career, winning two Emmy Awards and receiving three more nominations for the Oscars. She currently stars in the limited AppleTV+ series, Expats.
