Lili Gladstone: First Native American Actress to Win Best Actress at 2024 Golden Globes.

Actress Lily Gladstone has made history as the first Native American woman to win a Golden Globe award for her role in the movie "Killers of the Flower Moon." Gladstone won the award for "Best Actress in a Drama," beating out several other nominees for the award. In her acceptance speech, Gladstone spoke the Nɨsɨ́pm̓ Henry language, one of the languages spoken by Native Americans, and thanked those who made it possible for her to speak a little of the language. The movie "Killers of the Flower Moon" is about the mystery surrounding the deaths of members of the Osage tribe in the United States in the early 1920s, which leads to the involvement of J. Edgar Hoover and the launch of an investigation. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro and is directed by Martin Scorsese. Gladstone described her win as not just for herself, but for her colleagues in the film, as well as every Native American child who dreams of seeing themselves on screen with wonderful allies.
