Mohamed Ramadan fined EGP 500,000 to Amr Adib for defamation and insults.

Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan has been fined EGP500,000 ($31,500) after being accused of cursing and insulting TV host Amr Adeeb on social media. Adeeb had accused Ramadan of insulting him via social media and won an earlier case in court which resulted in a fine of EGP300,000. Adeeb then sought compensation of EGP3m. The controversy has been brewing for months, with mediation led by Saudi entertainment chief Turki Al-Sheikh brokered a recent meeting that resulted in Ramadan's apology to the TV host.
