Musician Jordan Lotz, also known as Geotic, has proposed to global star Demi Lovato with a custom-designed ring. The engagement was exclusively confirmed to People magazine, and the couple celebrated with their families at a Los Angeles restaurant. Lotz, 31, collaborated with Theresa Panico, marketing and fine jewellery director at New York's Material Good, to create the unique oval-shaped ring. The two met in January 2022 while writing Lovato's song "Substance," and announced their relationship in August of that year. They shared a romantic first meeting on a "Lady Gang" podcast in September. Lovato spoke enthusiastically about her relationship with Lotz and how she had helped him with his last tattoo, the design for which she also contributed to. In an Instagram post on Lovato's 31st birthday in August, Lotz called her "my dearest friend" and honoured her with funny photos and videos, adding in his caption that she "makes me laugh until I cry."
