The Riyadh Season festival has announced the suspension of its concerts for three days following the death of Kuwait's Emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In a statement, the festival organisers said the move followed "the noble directive" to mourn the Emir's passing. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Amiri Diwan announced on 16 December that Sheikh Nawaf had died. The statement offered condolences to the Kuwaiti, Arab and Islamic peoples, as well as to the world's "friendly" countries.
