Egyptian actress Jamila Awad is preparing for her new series, which she will star in during the Ramadan 2024 season. She took a break from acting for two years. Awad revealed that the new series is based on an foreign format of the show "Good Girls," but did not provide further details about the show. She made the announcement on the sidelines of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The actress attended the festival's closing ceremony, wearing a simple black outfit and minimal makeup. Awad's latest work was in the movie "El Mahkama," where she played a character named Alya who undergoes a gender transformation. The movie did not achieve high box office revenues when it was released in Egyptian cinemas, earning only 4,666,559 Egyptian pounds. The film boasted a cast of many other stars including Ghada Adel, Karim Afifi, Nejlaa Fathy, Salah Abdallah, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Mohamed Mehran, Ahmed Dash, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Mayan El Sayed, Suleiman Eid, and Aarfa Abd Al-Rasoul. The film was written by Ahmed Abdullah, and directed by Mohamed Amin.
