Saudi Arabia's entertainment chief, Turki Al-Sheikh, revealed on his Instagram account that his first film, "Chello," will be screened in over 1,000 US cinemas, a first for an Arab film. "Chello" stars Jeremy Irons, Tobin Bell, and Ghassan Masoud, and is directed by American filmmaker Darren Lynn Bousman, known for his work on the popular horror franchise "Saw." The plot reportedly centres on Al-Sheikh's own life story. The film features the work of over 200 Saudi crew and was shot between Riyadh, Darma, and Al-Ula in Saudi Arabia, and other undisclosed locations in Europe. In his Instagram post, Al-Sheikh spoke about the effort that went into making a high-quality film, including working with a top US producer and an Italian-American director of photography, as well as international sound and lighting experts.
