Actor Nicolas Cage spoke about the key points in his artistic career in a dialogue session at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah with presenter Raya Abirached. He revealed why he changed his name from Nicholas Coppola to Nicholas Cage and how he handles allegations of nepotism. Cage also discussed his recent inclination towards television drama instead of cinema. He stated that he changed his name because actors on a film set thought he lacked talent because he is the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola, director of The Godfather. They mocked him by repeating a line from Apocalypse Now. Cage explained that some directors were very selfish and he did not think any of them would agree to see the name "Coppola" above the title of their film. Despite this, Cage is proud to have grown up around artists and that his uncle joked about his name change after he won an Oscar for Best Actor in the film, Leaving Las Vegas. The actor also gave behind-the-scenes details about the making of his film, Moonstruck. Cage is currently planning to shift towards television drama, saying that he has exhausted his creative abilities in cinema. He saw Breaking Bad with his son and decided to shift to television dramas. He said that he will not reject all the movies offered to him, but he has a 15-month-old daughter and wants to spend time with her. Cage added that turning to television dramas is a logical decision for his family. The session ended with Cage talking about his upcoming film, Dream Scenario. He considers it one of the top five scripts he's read over his 45-year career, along with Vampire's Kiss, Leaving Las Vegas, Raising Arizona, and Adaptation.
