The King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief (KSRelief) has signed an agreement with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to provide $15m for the delivery of vaccines in Yemen. The donation will provide support towards the cost of vaccines, injections, and supplies for health workers. UNICEF Yemen has appealed for $40m to cover the cost of vaccines and supplies for 2018. The money will enable the health ministry and partners to reach an estimated 5.5m children under the age of five across the country. In Yemen access to healthcare is limited and 1.8 million children under the age of five are estimated to be malnourished. More than 30% of the country does not have access to basic healthcare, and over half of all health facilities no longer function. This pledge of aid follows a similar agreement reached last month in which the Saudi Crown Prince chaired a $2bn donation drive in Riyadh for aid in Yemen.
