Khalid Abdulrahman performs at Riyadh Season concert

Singer Khalid Abdulrahman performed a lively concert on 2 December, alongside artists Nabil Shuail and Daham Al Talasi, as part of the Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia. Abdulrahman played a diverse set of his most popular old and new songs, including Ya Asal, Winak, Ndamman and Al Rayek – to which the audience responded enthusiastically. Abdulrahman is known for writing his poetry as well as composing music, and he has released printed collections of his work, including a compilation with fellow poet Said Sultan Al-Qahtani. He titled one album Message from a Disabled Person, which aimed to draw attention to disabled people's lives and challenges. He nicknamed himself "the Night's Traveller". Abdulrahman taught himself to play the oud in late 1985 and was influenced by artists such as Sulaima Abdullah, Hamad Altayar and Bashir Shnnan, as well as Kuwaiti artist Suleiman Al Malla. He has worked with several Gulf poets, including Guioud, Shaima, Matalie Al-Shams, and Giahiab, and is known as the "King of Art" among his fans.
