Celebrities in Saudi Arabia and across the Arab world have taken to social media to congratulate the Kingdom on winning the bid to host Expo 2030. Names including Ahlam, Nancy Ajram, Elham Ali, and Rashed Al Majed sent messages of congratulations on Twitter as the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh was chosen as the host city on Friday. The General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) chose Riyadh over Italian capital Rome and South Korean city Busan at its meeting on Friday in Paris. Expo 2030 in Saudi Arabia represents the latest in a long line of ambitious projects as Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman looks to transform the country’s economy and society.
