Zafer Al-Abdeen directs and stars in "To My Son" premiering at the Red Sea Film Festival.

The Red Sea International Film Festival has announced the world premiere of "To My Son", a film written, directed and starring the popular Arab actor, Dhaffer L'Abidine. The film also features Saudi, Jordanian, British, and Lebanese actors, and is produced by O3 Medya and Double A Productions. The film explores family relationships and tackles questions about traditional values and modernity. It follows the story of Faisal, a British-Saudi living in London with his seven-year-old son, Adam. After his wife Angela dies, Faisal decides to leave his life and job in the UK, and return with his son to Saudi Arabia, where he left his family 12 years prior. Despite everyone's joy in seeing him return, Faisal's father is unable to forgive him for leaving his family behind and challenges Faisal's motives for returning. "To My Son" is the second film directed by L'Abidine, after his film "Ghodwa" in 2021, which he also wrote and produced through his production company, Double A Productions. L'Abidine is an accomplished actor with a diverse filmography, having played roles in British, American, and French productions, as well as Arabic productions such as "Leilat Ougini" and "Hala Al-Dunya" and the popular series "Bride of Beirut". The world premiere of "To My Son" will take place on December 3 at the Ritz-Carlton Jeddah, with L'Abidine attending the red carpet alongside the film's cast. The film will be shown again on December 4 at the Vox cinema.
